Top 10 Best Countries in The World – 2020

If you knew the previous year’s rankings of the best countries in the world then you are definitely very curious to know about this year’s rankings which is in one hand pretty interesting and in other hands very practical. Several changes are made to the rankings. Some countries have gone downstairs, some have gone upstairs and the rest remain the same. There are also some countries that fall from the rankings in a previous couple of years consecutively for economical breakdown or some other reasons. Anyways, we will not go deeper into the reasons behind their rankings rather we will want to show the top 10 best countries in the world in 2020.

Best Countries in the World – The Survey System

The countries are ranked based on a total of 65 attributes that are grouped in 9 sub rankings and those sub rankings determine the overall ranking from the best country in the world to the rest. Those 9 sub rankings are Adventure, Citizenship, Cultural Influence, Entrepreneurship, Heritage, Movers, Open for Business, Power and Quality of Life.

Not all countries can participate in this survey because a country has to cross four benchmarks in order to be ranked in this survey of the overall ranking. The four benchmarks are as follows:

  1. Top 100 countries in terms of gross domestic product in 2017, based on World Bank data
  2. Top 100 countries in terms of foreign direct investment inflows in 2017, based on World Bank data
  3. Top 100 countries in terms of international tourism receipts in 2017, based on World Bank data

  5. Top 150 countries in the U.N.’s Human Development Index, based on the 2017 report

That’s why only 73 countries have been selected and ranked in this analysis in 2020 because these countries have crossed these benchmarks and countries like Hungary, Iran, Iraq, Belgium, Pakistan, Uruguay, etc. have not been counted and ranked in this survey because they haven’t achieved the four benchmarks. On the other hand, countries like Austria, Kenya, and Bolivia have been added back and ranked into this analysis. Let’s know what are the top 10 best countries in the world this year.
